5 Simple Stretching Exercises

Stretching Exercise 1: Neck Stretch

  • Start by sitting or standing up straight.

  • Slowly tilt your head to the right, bringing your right ear towards your right shoulder.

  • Hold this stretch for 15-30 seconds. Repeat on the left side.

Stretching Exercise 2: Shoulder Stretch

  • Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart.

  • Extend your right arm straight across your chest, parallel to the ground.

  • Use your left hand to gently pull your right arm closer to your body.

  • Hold this stretch for 15-30 seconds. Repeat on the left side.

Stretching Exercise 3: Hamstring Stretch

  • Sit on the floor with your legs extended in front of you.

  • Slowly lean forward, reaching towards your toes.

  • Hold this stretch for 15-30 seconds.

Stretching Exercise 4: Quadriceps Stretch

  • Stand with your feet hip-width apart.

  • Bend your right knee and grab your right foot with your right hand.

  • Gently pull your foot towards your glutes, feeling a stretch in the front of your thigh.

  • Hold this stretch for 15-30 seconds. Repeat on the left side.

Stretching Exercise 5: Calf Stretch

  • Stand facing a wall or sturdy object.

  • Place your hands on the wall at shoulder height.

  • Step your right foot back, keeping your heel on the ground.

  • Lean forward, feeling a stretch in your calf muscle.

  • Hold this stretch for 15-30 seconds. Repeat on the left side.
