Apricots

During apricots season, the trees in our backyard in Morocco produced so many apricots that I vividly remember my mother making preservatives from them because she felt terrible they were rotting to waste. Back then, I had no idea the nutritional value apricots offer, but had I known they boost skin health, I would have ensured none went to waste :).

Highlighted Benefits

Apricots are high in antioxidants and carotenoids like beta-carotene, which gives them their beautiful rich yellow-orange color. Fresh apricots contain vitamins A, C, E, and K, copper, potassium, niacin, and manganese. Dried apricots contain added vitamin B6, phosphorus, and iron. Studies also found apricot possess potent anti-inflammatory properties, which can help protect us against diseases.

So if you want to include some apricots into your diet, you are in luck. Apricot season is from early May to July. So, don’t forget to add them to your shopping list to help support your skin and gut health.
