Arugula

Also known as rockets, arugula’s distinctive flavor is delicious, mixed with goat cheese, extra virgin olive oil, garlic dressing, and a few dashes of Himalayan salt! I love the little kick of spiciness, and earthy yet fresh arugula, which is why I also use them in my green juice and smoothies.

Highlighted Benefits

Antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticancer

Arugula contains compounds called glucosinolates which give arugula its pungent taste. Glucosinolates have potent detoxifying antioxidant and anti-inflammatory actions, which studies show may help reduce the risk of breast, prostate, and lung cancer. But if that’s not a good enough reason to eat arugula, it is also abundant with phytochemicals like chlorophyll and flavonoids that benefit our skin and overall health.

Arugula is an excellent source of vitamins A, K, and C, riboflavin, iron, copper, calcium, manganese, folic acid, potassium, and zinc.
