Homemade Nut Butter

Homemade nut butter is far superior in taste and nutrition to those you get off the supermarket shelves. Firstly they don’t contain sweeteners which add calories and additives which can wreak havoc on your health. And best of all, you can get creative by adding other ingredients to create different flavors, like dark chocolate. Yum! And to do it all, you need a great high-powered blender like my 2010 investment in a Vitamix blender which is the best decision I made for my health because it still works like a charm!

I can’t tell you how much I love my Vitamix blender! It has been my healthy kitchen companion for over a decade now. I use it to create smoothies, sauces, nut butter, soups, and nut milk, and I even blend my nut and grain flour. So, if you don’t already own a blender, I would encourage you to get one; it will help make managing a healthy lifestyle more manageable. You can find a good blender anywhere, but if you’re unsure what to get, head here for my suggested blender.

Ok, back to the recipe for nut butter. Look how simple it is:

Ingredients

  • 3 cups unsalted roasted peanuts or other nuts of choice

  • 1 pinch Himalayan salt (optional)

Steps

  1. Follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for pulsing since all blenders are different.

Note ~ You can use the same measurements for other nut butter, including raw ones. Add one cup of nuts at a time when using the blender to pulse.
